The historic village of Rendham lies halfway between Framlingham and Saxmundham and is easily reached from the main A12.

The River Alde flows through the village on its way to Snape and onwards to the sea at Aldeburgh. There is evidence of a settlement in Rendham since Roman times, and it is mentioned in the Domesday Book.

A bronze sculpture of the head of Claudius was found in the river in 1907 which is now in the British Museum, and a copy is kept in St Michael’s Church.

The population of Rendham is around 200 and the village has its own pub, the White Horse, at the centre of the community. They hold an annual beer festival in August featuring numerous bitters, ales, ciders and live music.
