Aldringham’s History
Aldringham is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and, thousands of years ago, the Hundred River nearby carried barges to inland trading centres. Ships would have anchored in the Haven which is now a wildlife-rich marsh and water meadow with a delightful reed fen.
The parish of Aldringham also includes the seaside resort of Thorpeness which is situated less than 2miles away to the east. 1 mile north is the popular residential town of Leiston which provides a full range of traditional high street shops, supermarket, and cinema, with Aldeburgh also close by, just 3miles to the south.
Flick & Son’s Aldeburgh office can provide the best possible advice on finding the perfect property for you to rent or buy in and around the Aldringham area.
