Walpole lies on the River Blyth, three miles south west of Halesworth and just ten miles from the coast at Southwold. The village has around two hundred residents and is linked to the nearby village of Cookley which a population of just over 100.
The church of St Mary sits in the village dating back to the twelfth century, with the tower and aisle remaining entirely still to this date. Walpole also features Walpole Old Chapel, which was converted from two farmhouses in the 17th Century.
