The former market town of Aldringham is a small and tranquil village situated between Aldeburgh and Leiston.
Aldringham is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and thousands of years ago the Hundred River nearby carried barges to inland trading centres. Ships would have anchored in the Haven, which is now a wildlife-rich marsh and water meadow with a delightful reed fen.
The parish of Aldringham also includes the seaside resort of Thorpeness which is situated less than two miles away to the east.
One mile north is the popular coastal resort of Leiston, which provides a full range of traditional high street shops, supermarket and cinema, with Aldeburgh also close by, just three miles to the south.
Flick & Son’s Aldeburgh office can provide the best possible advice on finding the perfect property for you to rent or buy in and around Aldringham. Please contact our branch in the High Street or just drop in for a chat with Peter, Harry, Ben or Pam.
