Framlingham is a popular market town with much to explore. The original settlement in the town dates back to the Anglo-Saxon period, with much of the current layout having roots in the 16th Century.
One of Framlingham’s most popular attractions is the 800-year-old castle managed by English Heritage. Mary Tudor took refuge here before becoming Queen and it was also a prison during the Elizabethan era.
Framlingham boasts an array of independent shops, a twice-weekly market with quality local produce,as well as plenty of places where you can eat, drink and relax.
The Sunday Times recently selected Framlingham as one of its 101 Best Places to Live in Britain. It has also received attention in other parts of the national press, but many are quite keen to keep that quiet so the town can retain its unspoilt charm.
