Wyndham House is attached to but disassociated from its former rear wing, its wing having just been comprehensively remodelled and refurbished for the present owners of Wyndham House to move to.Both Wyndham House, the major part of the house, and its wing are Listed as being of Grade II Architectural & Historic Interest, conserving Wyndham House’s graceful three bay, stuccoed east elevation and the curved full height bay to its south corner, the principal features of its handsome architecture.

Attractively presented internally and well appointed, its spacious circulation areas, high ceilings to well-proportioned rooms with deep sash windows and fine plaster and joinery detailing characterise the interior of the house, whilst the sea and town views from upstairs windows underline Wyndham House’s seaside location. Extensive cupboard space, en-suite and family bathrooms, a roof terrace, open fireplaces augmented by central heating and a basement floor with a cloakroom, a utility room, a vaulted wine cellarand a workshop, all add significantly to the merit of the property.

Wyndham House stands at the corner of the High Street with Wentworth Road, orientated to face east to the sea and south to the town, shielded from Victoria and Wentworth Roads by tall, mellow brick, garden walls. It is approached over its own private driveway and externally it features a large lawned garden lined by evergreen oak to its principal frontage, a swimming pool, a large enclosed side courtyard, gravelled parking space, garaging and an adjoining enclosed store.

All of Aldeburgh’s shops, restaurants, cafes and galleries, its bank, professional offices and cinema, are within an easy walk. The parish Church is just behind the house and the beach just across the road from the front of the house.

A mecca for the arts and host to a variety of festivals and documentaries, Aldeburgh is an east coast gem, known far and wide for its fine heathland golf and estuary sailing and for the quality of its surrounding beachscape and landscape.

Accessible but unspoilt, which is a significant part of Aldeburgh’s attraction, it is within some two and a half hours or so travelling distance of central London either by Inter-City train from London Liverpool Street to Ipswich and a branch service to nearby Saxmundham, or by road via the A12 and A1094.
